Arte Nouveau Beadwork Necklace (BW152)
I made this for a local exhibition to be held in the beautiful old church we have in the centre of our town to commemorate the Roaring Twenties.
Sadly that exhibition had, like to many events, to be cancelled due to Coronavirus restrictions.
I wanted to see what I could do to achieve the organic swirly look of vintage art nouveau jewellery using just seed beads stitched together (the main stitch here being herringbone) and Czech glass beads. I made several attempts!
The necklace is 18" (46.5cm) long, fastening with a vintage style pearl box clasp. All the pearls, like all the beads in this necklace, are glass.
