Urchin Black Swarovski Crystals Necklace BW105
This necklace features five 14mm Swarovski crystals in shades of silvery grey with a special antiqued finish. I've beaded around them and used fringing in black shiny seed beads with a dull silver finial on each dangle. They are tied onto a soft black cotton cord which is also inside the beadwork necklace for which I've used matt black seed beads and dull silver O beads in a stitch I call herringnet.
It took approximately 30 hours to make.
The necklace is 18" (475mm) long and fastens with a hand stitched toggle clasp.
I called the necklace Urchin because it does remind me a little of sea urchins but also street urchins in its loose informality. Nevertheless - this is a dramatic necklace that would look fabulous for a posh evening do.
