Blue-Gold Sandstone Knotted Necklace (LS105)
Gold and blue sandstone is man made by smelting gypsum, feldspar and copper (which gives it the lovely sparkle), so it is a kind of glass rather than a natural stone.
Here the two are mixed which makes these stones all the more dramatic. The longer stones (3cm) have larger round blue-gold sandstones between them, with tinier 6mm facetted blue sandstone beads either side of those. I've knotted between them to give the necklace durability and drape.
Although it's not necessary, as the necklace is long enough (36"/930mm) to just pop over, I added a sterling silver hook clasp to give the necklace finish.
This looks stunning with navy blue but would look equally gorgeous with anything in the cream - brown spectrum.
