SOLD
Vesuvianite, nephrite jade and lime green turquoise rondelles combine here in a truly unique necklace of dark and bright greens.
The large vesuvianite wheels are matched with smaller vesuvianite nuggets with the jade and turquoise unifying the whole. The vesuvianite is enhanced with little silver Karen Hill Tribe beads and the clasp is a chunky Karen Hill Tribe silver (almost 99% pure silver) S clasp.
Vesuvianite was discovered in 1795 at Mount Vesuvius, for which it is named and its dark green colour is a perfect match for the nephrite jade. Nephrite jade is the more common of the two varieties of jade, the other being the rarer Jadeite. Its colour range is from white to the dark green used here. The facetted turquoise rondelles are stabilised turqoise, dyed a stunning lime green colour, with magenta veinings.
The necklace is 19" (482mm) long.
