Tiger's Eye and Amber Necklace (D19)
The shifting play of light, known as chatoyancy, in tiger's eye is fascinating. It is a result of the crystals which formed (over millenia) around a fibrous blue crocidolite mineral, made of iron and sodium. Tiger's eye is a relatively abundant stone but here I've teamed it with amber, fossilised tree resin, to enhance the golden glow of the tiger's eye.
This necklace really does glow and has its own movement, like the rich rays of a low sun playing across the darkening dunes.
Tiger's eye is thought by crystal healers to bring good luck, prosperity, wealth and success. It is a happy stone, bringing joy and greater feelings of self worth.
The necklace is approximately 30.5" (773mm) long and fastens with a gold vermeil toggle clasp, so can be wrapped twice around the neck as a choker. All findings are gold vermeil (24ct gold plated onto sterling silver).
