Silver Trinket Box - Iskra (BG01)
This box is adapted from a design by the very talented beadwork designer, Jean Power. I attended one of her classes to learn how to make the box - named Iskra - so I have one and then made this, slightly adapting the pattern to give the box more interest at the sides. I changed the the bottom too, as mine has little feet but is a bit wobbly - this is more stable.
The focal point is a large Swarovski crystal stone and there are further Swarovski crystals around the sides. it is all beadwork - the box is built up one tiny bead stitched to another at a time. I used silver-lined crystal delica beads with opaque silver delicas. Delicas are the best quality seed beads, precision made in Japan.
This would be perfect for a special heirloom ring or brooch and would look really pretty on your dressing table.
