Porcelain Pendant on Beadwork Chain (BW45)
This lovely porcelain piece was made by a fellow crafter, Irene Lucas who is an extraordinary potter. I have encased the porcelain in beadwork, using little 2mm Czech glass pearls in pink to complement the pattern in the porcelain, and suspended it from a beadwork chain worked in a modified daisy stitch.
The necklace part is 20" (515mm) long; the pendant measures 8 x 4.5 cm. The necklace fastens with a beadwork toggle clasp, designed to complement the centre of the necklace from which the pendant is suspended.
A very unusual necklace - you won't see another like it, and I can't make another like it as each of the porcelain pieces I have from Irene is unique. (Which is, incidentally, her trade name!).
