Hessonite Garnet two-strand Necklace (D18)


Hessonite is the name given to grossularite garnet, the lovely cinnamon coloured garnet. Garnet is the birthstone for January.

Here I've put together two strands of hessonite garnet, one a hand-knotted silk strand of oval hessonite, the other a strung strand of heishi (square cut beads)hessonite. These strands attach to a ring of twisted gold vermeil (24ct gold plated onto sterling silver) and fastening into a twisted gold vermeil toggle clasp.

Hessonite garnet is said to give the wearer a feeling of self-respect eliminating feelings of guilt and inferiority. Who would fail but feel ever so slightly superior when wearing this stunning necklace? The various shades of the stones are graduated along both strands varying from palest peach to deepest tawny brown. Very classy indeed!

The necklace is 19.5" (495mm) in length, measuring from the inner strand.
