Chrysoprase and Hemimorphite Silk Knotted Necklace (LS48)
I've teamed the gorgeous greens of the chrysoprase nuggets with turquoisey/bluey/greeny hemimorphite rounds in this necklace, all knotted onto a dark green silk, which gives the necklace a comfortable drape.
Both chrysoprase and hemimorphite are relatively unknown semi-precious stones. Chrysoprase is a green variety of chalcedony and is in the agate, carnelian and onyx family. It is mined in Australia. Hemimorphite is a zinc silicate, its crystals forming hemimorphs - different crystal terminals at the top and the bottom - which is quite rare in gemstone minerals. Mexico is the main source of Hemimorphite.
But enough geography for now - suffice to say that you will look fabulous in this necklace!
It is a slightly longer length - 20.5" (525mm) and fastens with a simple sterling silver toggle clasp.
