Charlotte White and Gold Dangles Necklace (BLBN35)
Very often my beadwork starts with the focal stone. Here I started with this fabulous vintage glass button bead - without a shank - that is a pure white with chequerboard facets. I also had some vintage glass bead dangles and thought they would look stunning together with the dangles fringing the button. I then created the beadwork that would complement and show off the focal, adding gold and bronze beads to reflect the old gold colour in the links in the dangles.
The resulting necklace (which wanted to be called Charlotte) is both elegant and wearable. It is fairly long - 27" (69cm) with the pendant and dangles adding a further 11cm. It fastens with a beaded toggle clasp but is long enough to just pop over your head.
This will be a lovely addition to a summer wardrobe or to add interest to any evening outfit.
