Black and Crystal Gemstones Cluster Pendant (SM55)

Clusters of facetted shiny black spinel and clear multi-facetted rock crystal quartz gemstones in assorted shapes and sizes dangle from a sterling silver chain in this sophisticated and on-trend pendant necklace.

I have wire-wrapped each of the gemstones using sterling silver wire, attached to piece of sterling silver chain which is attached to the neckchain. Also nestling in the cluster is a sterling silver heart making this a very special gift for a loved one.

Spinel is often found with corundum (red corundum is ruby, other colours, including blue, is sapphire) and is itself a very hard stone, measuring 8 on the Mohs scale (diamond measures 10). It comes in a variety of colours, the name spinel coming from the Greek for sparkling. The spinel used here has more to it than the more common black onyx.

The necklace measures 17" (435mm) with a 2" drop. It fastens with a sterling silver 'S' clasp.
