I find myself working occasionally within a specific colour palette and just recently this has been in black, grey, white and silver shades. These black vein jasper stones are so gorgeous, they, like the tourmalinated quartz I've also been working with, are like miniature pieces of modern art - I could see them haning in a gallery.

In fact this would be a great necklace to wear to a gallery! Or a concert...or the theatre...or to dinner...or just to work!

Jasper is a fine grained, opaque, quartz often found in combination with chalcedony and agate. I've teamed these with sardonyx, which have their own subtle markings (although they look a bit like black agate and are of the same family) with a black vein jasper rondelle between.

The necklace is 17.5" (444mm) long and fastens with a Karen Hill Tribe silver 'S" hook clasp.
