These big black chunks of obsidian are teamed with smaller shiny black nuggets of black onyx framed with black onyx abacus beads to make a necklace that will look fabulous for work or going out.

Whenever I see irregular or chunky black onyx or obsidian I am reminded of the sea-worn black tarred groynes around our East Anglian coasts - like those which appeared in a shot of Benjamin Britten walking on the shingle beach at Aldeburgh during a programme about Alan Bennet's The Habit of Art.

Don't worry if you missed it - this necklace evokes all the wild romanticism of the coast!

The necklace is 18.5" (470mm) long and fastens with an elegant Karen Hill Tribe silver toggle clasp.
