Biwa Pearl Necklace (SM61)
Sorry - now sold!
If you love pearls but want something a bit different from the classical style then this funky biwa pearl necklace is for you!
The ivory coloured biwa pearls (around 20mm long) are perfectly matched with little freshwater potato pearls (around 5mm in diameter), all knotted onto non-stretch ivory knotting thread. The biwa pearls have a slight iridescence to them as the light travels over their bumpy surfaces. Beautiful!
This is a necklace that can be worn by both a modern bride - or her mother! It is definitely a special occasion necklace, whether that be a wedding, a party or an important business meeting, and it will be sure to draw admiring comments wherever and whenever it is worn.
The necklace is 21.5" (555mm) long and fastens with a hammered silver Karen Hill Tribe* toggle clasp.
*Karen Hill Tribe silver is made by silversmiths in Thailand. I buy directly from them via a co-operative fair trade scheme.
